Our Approach
Proactively identifying challenges to keep the artist’s vision whole — from start to finish.
The Opportunity
We completed several stages of the project at the same time, making sure we identified risks, addressed problems early in the process, and ensured design, schedule and costs were aligned throughout.
Our team considered a few approaches before settling on one that allowed us to address the project’s complex features. Our ultimate solution is simple and straightforward, though the geometry is complex.
Freight rail and cast parts combined to form the complex bends and custom-machined IPE boards, each individually crafted to accurately match the skewed and twisting curvatures of the planes.
During installation the work was carefully positioned at an angle to reflect the Calgary Tower back to the viewer.
