SONIC WALL

Sonic Wall, a 340’ bas-relief massive multi-media installation that stretches across the front of the casino.

Our Approach

Build to resemble a sound-wave, Heavy was able to design and mill the form in three dimensions. This allowed the client to see their sculpture with lighting before it was ever constructed.

The Opportunity

Enlarged from the artist’s maquette, the wall is an abstraction of a sound wave rendered in fibre reinforced plastic (FRP).

The shape is mirrored and runs hundred feet along the building in either direction of the entrance. Heavy was easily able to make the mould plugs and the light-weight fiberglass casts. A simple batton system with detailed wall mapping plans made for simple, fast and safe install solution.
