Wonderland 7.jpg

Our heads are in Wonderland.

A sculpture that represents the hopes and dreams of young people, this bold creation echoes the fresh youthful energy of the building’s tenants.

Our Approach

To inspire everyone who walks by. A true representation of the architecture of our own bodies, the palace of our dreams.

The Opportunity

Heavy’s innovative approach to producing the Wonderland sculpture allowed for a highly accurate expression of the artist’s 3D design.

We used CNC-milled templates and a digitally designed assembly framework to fabricate the sculpture, which required 11,568 welds to complete and is finished with an industrial-grade coating.

Wonderland is Calgary’s largest permanent public artwork to date.

Brain-tingling patterns created by the thousands of welds required to make the Wonderland head.
